Explore the traditional Korean way of making textured handmade paper
Joomchi is an ancient Korean technique for felting hanji paper (Korean mulberry bark paper). The resulting paper looks and feels like chamois, strong and soft. They were traditionally used for containers, bags and even clothing. Joomchi-worked paper can be used for artworks, hangings, lampshades, book covers and sculptures. In the workshop, we will make several sheets of decorated felted paper.
