Create your own Aboriginal stone art and explore culture and Country on a guided bushwalk with Koori Kinnections at the Coal Loader.
The day includes two parts:
Indigenous Culture Family Walk
Take a guided discovery walk with Koori Kinnections and learn about Aboriginal culture and Country in and around the Coal Loader. This family-friendly walk is suitable for mixed physical abilities as walking/rolling is involved. All children must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. The walk includes:
- A visit to a local Aboriginal rock engraving site
- An exploration of the Bush Tucker Garden to learn about native plants
- A walk through native bushland to discover endemic species
Stone Art Workshop
Children and parents will get hands-on creating their own stone art while learning about the traditional meanings and uses of Aboriginal art. Take your artwork home, or leave it for someone else to find!
Participants will be split into two groups, alternating between the walk and the workshop.
Bookings essential. Registrations opening soon – check back here for updates.
