Help to develop the North Sydney Bike Action Plan

Two cyclists riding bikes on a cycleway

Share your feedback on cycling in North Sydney to help us develop a new action plan encouraging people to ride bikes.

North Sydney Council is refreshing the North Sydney Integrated Cycling Strategy, which has guided the delivery of priority bike routes since 2014.

To inform this refresh, we will be running community engagement activities to hear your thoughts on how cycling has shifted over the past ten years, establishing a new cycling network, and developing key actions to make riding a bike safer and more enjoyable.

There are several ways you can get involved.

Council's Your Say page

Share your thoughts and suggestions on Council's Your Say page by placing a pin on the map or completing the North Sydney Bike Riding Participation Survey:

Have your say

A background report is also available on the Your Say page as a resource to understand North Sydney's cycling context in comparison to five other council areas. The report will inform the development of the Bike Action Plan.

Pop-up stalls

These are opportunities to ask questions of Council staff and provide feedback:

  • Pop-up stall on corner of Miller Street and Ridge Street from 8am to 10am, Wednesday 24 April 2024
  • Pop-up stall at Northside Produce Market on Saturday 4 May 2024

Interviews and workshops

You can attend a workshop from 2pm to 4pm, Thursday 2 May to explore and share your thoughts on practical ways to encourage cycling that Council can implement or advocate for. We will also be holding interviews with North Sydney community members to understand the lived experience of people living in the area. Register your interest in these activities on Council's Your Say page.

Community engagement for the development of the North Sydney Bike Action Plan will run from Wednesday 3 April to Sunday 12 May 2024. The draft North Sydney Bike Action Plan will be exhibited later in the year.

If you would like to discuss the North Sydney Bike Action Plan, please contact Max White from Council’s Traffic and Transport Operations team on 02 9936 8529.
