North Sydney Council has been announced as a finalist in five different categories in the 2025 NSW Local Government Excellence Awards.

The awards celebrate outstanding achievements and promote innovation and continuous improvement within NSW local government.

We are thrilled to be finalists for the following awards this year:

  • The Access and Inclusion Committee has been chosen as a finalist in the category Community Development for providing a platform for members of our community with lived experience of disability to participate in our decision making processes.
  • Council's Citizenship Ceremonies have been chosen as a finalist in two categories: Community Partnerships and Partnerships and Collaboration, for our work to transform them into community-focused, partnership-led occasions that give our new Australians a deep understanding of what it means to be a part of our community.
  • The Next Ten Years: Informing Strategies for North Sydney has also been chosen as a finalist in the categories Innovative Leadership and Special Project Initiative for creating a strong foundation for the future direction for eight key areas of Council responsibility.

Winners of the awards will be announced on 5 June.
