When Council or Council's contractor undertakes infrastructure or road works, we must follow standard working hours.

Standard construction hours

Monday to Friday

  • 7am - 7pm (for B3 Commercial Core and B4 Mixed Use)
  • 7am - 5pm (for all other zones)

Saturday

  • 8am - 1pm

Standard demolition and excavation hours

  • Monday to Friday only, between 8am and 5pm

Start and end times are estimates only (weather and other factors permitting). All efforts will be made to minimise disruption and complete the works as quickly and safely as possible. Council appreciates your cooperation and patience.

Council may approve construction works outside of standard hours for public safety reasons.

Willoughby Road, Crows Nest

Works: Ausgrid is in the process of undergrounding the overhead power cables on Willoughby Road from Burlington Street to Albany Street.

Works dates:

  • 5 and 6 May 2025 from 7.30am – on either side of the Willoughby Road footpath entrance to the number 90 Public Arcade
  • 6 May 2025 from 7.30am – on the footpath outside number 56 shop 
  • 6 May 2025 from 7.30am – on Albany St (south west side) near the corner of Willoughby Road

Russell Street, Wollstonecraft

Works: new raised pedestrian crossings

Work dates: Works will commence Monday 12 May and will be completed within two weeks, 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday, weather permitting. Line marking to be completed between 7pm -11pm over 1 shift.

Works: installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure

Work dates: 7am to 5pm, Monday 12 May, Wednesday 14 May and Thursday 15 May (subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen site constraints)
