Outdoor Dining and/or Goods on Display Permit Renewal or Cancellation

North Sydney Council is responsible for managing footpaths within the North Sydney local government area.

To ensure pedestrian access and safety is maintained, a permit is required for an outdoor dining and/or goods display area on the footpath, plazas and public areas. 

This online request is for renewal or cancellation of your outdoor dining or goods on display permit only. 

All Outdoor Dining and/or Goods Display permits issued for the 2023-2026 permit term are due to expire on the 30/06/2026. Reminder notices were sent to existing Permit holders in May 2026.

A new application is required if: 

• Changes are sought to the existing outdoor dining or goods on display area, including amendments to the approved layout, size or configuration.

• You are a new owner/operator of the business that currently has an outdoor dining permit. 

• You have never had an outdoor dining permit for your business location.

Following assessment of your renewal or cancellation application, Council will arrange for its Property Management Agent to enter into a revised license agreement with the applicant on behalf of Council, and collect any required Bond.
