The Waverton Hub

The Hub is an active ageing initiative seeking to make the community more age-friendly. It is a member-driven organization being set up by local residents for Waverton, Wollstonecraft and nearby suburbs.

The Hub warmly welcome residents to join as members and hope that you will do so and enjoy the many benefits that the Hub is demonstrating:

  • the fun of doing activities together, enjoying each other’s company and giving and receiving help when we need it
  • strengthening our community by being active contributors to the wellbeing of ourselves and our neighbours
  • having the stimulation of learning new skills, including through participating in building the Hub
  • saving money when getting useful services (eg. trades people, transport)
  • the convenience of easy access to help; local services and activities at our doorstep
  • by creating Australia’s first Hub and helping to build a replicable model.

For the Waverton Hub Story So Far (514KB), click on this link or see the list of PDF documents below for further information.

Email the Hub on  if you are interested in joining or learning more, and one of the leadership group will contact you to discuss, maybe over a cuppa if you wish.

Membership Fee

To make membership affordable for all, the fee is relatively low (see form for details), with an especially low membership rate ($10p.a.) for Commonwealth full pension recipients and for members who are joining to help, but will not participate in Hub events.

There will be some fundraising activities each year and and The Hub will continue to seek sponsorship for special projects and also seek government funding for a paid manager whose job will be to expand the Hub’s offerings and efficiently respond to members’ questions and requests for assistance.
