COVID-19 Parking Fine Review

There is additional demand for on-street parking during Covid-19 lockdown.

Council has taken a lenient approach and only a small number of fines have been issued.

However, we are continuing to monitor parking for safety. Fines will be issued if vehicles obstruct sight lines from cross streets, block traffic or are parked across driveways.

We are also monitoring parking in the village centres to ensure there is turnover and equitable access to essential services such as food shops or medical services.

At its meeting of 26 July, Council resolved to review penalty notices issued to residents during the lockdown period if they meet the following criteria:

  1. The person requests a review of the penalty notice.

  2. The person submits proof that the penalty notice was issued during a time period when the person was working from home as a result of the current public health orders.

  3. The person substantiates that alternate residential parking was not available at the premise or via residential parking permit arrangements and they had made reasonable attempt to park the vehicle in compliance with parking regulations.

If you have a received a parking fine during this period and would like it reviewed, please complete this Review form below
