North Sydney Council’s biennial art prize showcases artwork across the grounds of the Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability site in Waverton. Over 90 artists from across Australia were selected to present artwork in variety of mediums and responding to Art Prize curatorial theme which encouraged artist to:

  • provide a creative response to the Coal Loader site or
  • its history addressing a local or global issue broadly related to: sustainability (environmental, ecological, cultural, social, political, economic, technological), climate action, renewal, remediation and regeneration,    climate change, mass production or consumer culture

An exciting range of work has been selected by the judges and some of the mediums included are: printmaking, drawing, painting, photography, sculptures, textiles, new media and site specific based installations.

In addition to the exhibition there will be a series of artist talks, activities for children and exhibition tours during the exhibition dates.
