Description

Forsyth Park Bushcare site is a small pocket of Angophora Foreshore Forest set in a gully between Yeo and Bent Street, Neutral Bay. Forsyth Bushcare Group has been rehabilitating the southern margin of this reserve adjacent to the Community Gardens, above the Community Centre since 1996.

Forsyth Park is further inland than other reserves and is the only remaining area of bushland in the centre of the North Sydney Council area. It is an important south/north linkage for a wildlife corridor stretching to Rawson Street and Anderson Park, called the Streets Alive – Rawson Street Wildlife corridor.

Wildlife Watch volunteer sightings indicate that there is a diversity of owl species in this area. The White-throated Nightjar, Barn Owl and Tawny Frogmouth have all been seen in the bushland of Forsyth Park.

Further volunteer support is needed. Come along, and join in, the site is located close to toilets and transport services.
