Meet local artists and crafters and take part in free fun drop-in sessions at this special Open Day
North Sydney Council's Primrose Park Artist Studios and Primrose Park Art & Craft Centre are located in beautiful Primrose Park, off Matora Lane, Cremorne. Come and engage directly with dynamic and exciting practitioners and participate in drop-in sessions across mediums including portraiture, paper making, textiles, making sculpture from recycled materials and much more.
The open day program is packed with opportunities to meet the makers and artists.
Primrose Park Art & Craft Centre is home to six member groups: Artists in the Park painting group, Australian Society of Calligraphers, Basketry NSW, Primrose Paper Arts Inc, Primrose Park Phototography and Textiles Sydney.
Member group respresentatives will be on hand all day running in drop-in sessions in painting, basketry, paper making, calligraphy, photography and textiles. Move freely between the activities, no bookings required.
Make sure to visit the member group exhibition 'Forces of Nature' - a collaborative exhibition showcasing works in basketry, painting, textiles, photography, paper arts and calligraphy.
Primrose Park Artists' Studios is part of Council's Creatives Spaces program. Artist studio program of talks:
10.15 am - Opening by Mayor Zoë Baker
10.30 am - Artist talk by Dacchi Dang Australian landscape through the eyes of the diaspora
11am to 11.45am - Artist Q & A session with faciliator Emmaly Langridge and artists in residence Kate Riley, Yvonne East, Janet Parker-Smith, Annabel Butler, Daachi Dang and Mary-Helen Daly
12pm to 12.45pm - Performance by Classical Guitar Society Sydney quartet

1pm to 1.45pm - Make Quirky Creatures with recycled materials with Kate Riley
1.30pm to 2.15pm - Discover Collage with Janet Parker-Smith
2.15pm to 3pm - Paint Like The Impressionists painting demonstration with Yvonne East
2.15pm to 3pm - Stitch by Stitch material collage with Mary-Helen Daly
Accessibility information
Primrose Park Art & Craft Studios and the Artist Studios are two levels. The lift is currently being repaired so only the top level will be accessible during the Open Day including Artists Q & A, drop-in activities, the Primrose Art & Craft Centre Pop Up Shop and Forces of Nature exhibition.
A free shuttle bus will be available to transport the public between The Coal Loader Artisans Market and Primrose Park Arts & Craft Centre. This bus is wheelchair accessible.
