The final fees will be calculated by Council.
Application fee
An application fee of $1990.00 must be paid in full before a permit is considered.
Duration
The initial duration for a works zone permit is 16 weeks.
Security deposit
A security deposit is required for works zones and must be submitted with your application.
Please provide confirmation of the DA value $ e.g. $3.8M
- DAs with value up to $4 million: $10,000.00 security deposit
- DAs with value over $4 million: $25,000.00 security deposit.
Bank guarantees are accepted as payment for the security deposit.

Additional fees
Additional fees must be paid in conjunction with the security deposit and may include:
- works zone meterage fee
- parking meter and sensor removal fee
- line marking fee (only if required)
- fees and charges schedule 2026 - 2027

Parking meter
Parking meter removal/relocation fee (permanent or temporary): $4,148 per parking meter
Reinstallation of signs
Fee: $623
If your works zone has expired and you have not paid an extension fee, the signposts will be removed. If the signs have been removed and you wish to extend, a tax invoice will be issued for the new period and a reinstallation fee of $550 will also apply.
This fee also applies if you modify the size of the works zone and the signs need to be reinstalled to accommodate for this.
