North Sydney businesses awarded for excellence

Local businesses from across the North Sydney local government area have been recognised at the 2025 North Shore Local Business Awards.

There were 230 finalists from across the north shore this year, all in the running for awards across 28 categories.

North Sydney Mayor Zoë Baker said: “These awards are a celebration of the resilience, creativity and commitment of our local businesses. Beyond their economic contributions, they foster community connections, support local causes, and bring vibrancy to our neighbourhoods. Council is proud to support and partner with them to foster economic growth and sustainability across our community. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners – you are the heartbeat of North Sydney.”

The winners from the North Sydney area were:

  • Hairdresser: Miller & Green Hairdressing, McMahons Point
  • Health Improvement Services: Healthfix, North Sydney
  • Performing Arts: ProgressDNA, North Sydney
  • Professional Services: Peppermint iT, North Sydney
  • Restaurant: Henrys, Neutral Bay
  • Business Person of the Year: Dr Nerida McDonald, Walker Street Doctors, North Sydney
  • Youth Award: Imogen Barker, NumberWorks'nWords Tutoring, North Sydney

The Awards were presented on Wednesday 30 July at Norths Cammeray. Deputy Mayor Councillor Godfrey Santer spoke at the presentation evening, congratulating the winners and reflecting on his own experience as a former business owner.
