Apply for a permit to occupy a road and/or footpath
Required documents
Before starting the application, applicants must have all required documents and supporting information ready, including an accurate description of works, proposed dates, affected area measurements, previous permit details, DA number if applicable, and details of any plant, machinery, vehicles, parking impacts, or traffic management.
Supporting documentation may also be required depending on the nature of the works, including public liability insurance, a Traffic Guidance Scheme, road occupancy licence, swept paths, police approval, schedule of works for out-of-hours activity, neighbour or stakeholder correspondence, and site photos.
Each application must include a completed and signed indemnity and insurance form, as well as a draft community notification letter explaining who is undertaking the works, what is being done, and when. Once approval is issued by Council, the notification must be distributed within a 100-metre radius of the site at least 2 business days before works commence.
