Financial Hardship

If you are experiencing financial hardship and are unable to pay your rates on time, you can apply for hardship assistance, and we can provide a personalised payment plan to help you get back on track.

Before commencing your application please ensure you have prepared the required information, as outlined below:

  • Prepared statement outlining the reason for your application (Max 1,000 characters)
  • Monthly Income - including your/spouse/partner income, rental income, investment/share income, pensions/other benefits, interest, compensation/superannuation insurance or retirement benefits
  • Bank, credit union or building society account balances & most recent statements.
  • Monthly Outgoings - including rent, home loans, other mortgages/loans, strata fees, credit cards, utility bills, council rates, medical expenses etc. 

Debtor Accounts

  • Prepared statement outlining the reason for your application (Max 1,000 characters)
  • List of Debtor accounts with North Sydney Council
  • Tax return statement for the last 2 years
  • If applying as a business - ABN, annual turnover, number of employees, monthly outgoings (incl wages/salaries, rent, business loans, credit cards, utility bills, strata fees, council rates), Bank/credit union or building society account balances & most recent statements, financial statement for the last 2 years
  • If applying as an individual - Monthly Income & outgoings (as outlined above under rates), Bank/credit union or building society account balances, including most recent statements.
